COVID BRIGADE

Covid Brigade is an initiative of kerala government which consist of volunteers from medical professional and non medical staffs. According to todays report, covid Brigade involves total number of 56,070 volunteers. The total number of Medical professionals involves 28,807 and non medical staffs involves 27,263 members. The main purpose of introducing covid brigade is for increasing the manpower for reducing the spread of covid virus.

The first batch of Kerala's covid brigade was introduced in Kasaragod district on August 26, 2020. A batch of 26 volunteers reached Kasaragod to manage two Covid First- Line Treatment Center(CFLTS) at Manjeshwaram because of facing shortage in manpower. Before sending them to CFLTS they have given four day training in Government Medical College, Thiruvanathapuram.

The volunteers involved in Covid Brigade are nurses, doctors, paramedical, technical and cleaning staffs. The educational qualification required for working under medical category are MBBS, dental, ayurveda and homeopathy etc. The education qualification required for working under non medical category involves MBA, MSW, MHA etc. These graduates can do center management and data entry works. Under multi purpose category education is not considered. The people in other educational category can also apply and they give work according to the availability. But they prefer mostly the people in medical and non medical category. The volunteers will get remuneration according to their work.

So, Covid Brigade is a better option for youth to involve in social welfare activities and can tell others that they do various activities during this pandemic period for nations betterment.
