Yesterday we all hear about the news related with social media ban in India through various social media platforms. The social media platform includes Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram were included in the ban list. The main reason for the ban is for not following the new guidelines issued by the central government.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has given three month time for the social media platforms for accepting the new guidelines issued on February 25 2021. The deadline has been end yesterday May 25 2021. Only the 'Koo' app, which is an Indian version of Twitter accepted the new guidelines earlier. The new rules include the appointment of a chief compliance officer, nodal contact person and resident grievance officer who is an Indian resident for each social media platform.
